I’m kicking off the week with a look back at my Sunday afternoon try-on session at Anthropologie. I love sharing my dressing room diaries on insta-stories, but wanted to post here in case you may not be following me on instagram (hint hint). With a gift card in hand and 20% off full price items I went to town. Here’s what I tried on, purchased, and passed on.
Moon River Floral Top — Where do I start? I spotted this top flying solo on the 40% off sale rack (it’s currently sold out online) and was majorly disappointed when I noticed it was a size small. In fact, a lady tried to talk me into giving it to her, but no dice. I thought it might be roomy enough, so no one was getting this gem until I tried it on! And what do you know, it did fit and it ended up being my favorite piece of the entire try on session. Purchased!
Brushed Fleece Hoodie — If you haven’t tried the lounge section at Anthro I highly recommend checking it out. If you’re into athleisure pieces — or just items that are versatile and can transition well — you’ll love this section at Anthro. Loved the heathered gray color and super soft fabric of this hoodie. This could easily be worn with jeans or with yoga pants. I can definitely see heading out to brunch in this soon. Purchased!
Brushed Cowl Neck Tunic — Another winner from the lounge section + the name alone features my 2 of my favorite styles — Cowl Neck & Tunic. Clearly it should be no surprised I pulled the dark gray color and I love the length of this knit. It works tucked in (shown here) or untucked for a true tunic fit. Pass (for now).
Bordeaux Twist Hem Top — I’m a sucker for a faux tucked-in top and this one from Bordeaux is lovely. I typically prefer crewnecks, but I loved the slight v-neck of this style. FYI, if you like this top it runs large. I sized down from a medium to a small. I originally snagged the cream, but when it I needed to size down I was forced to try on another color for size. I’m not one for red — but I ended up LOVING this top. And considering I have like 1 piece that’s red — I think I make room for a piece in this color. Purchased.
Alexa Buttondown Tunic — Another tunic style and when I saw this purple color on the front table it was the first thing I pulled to try on. My love/hate with button-up tops is well documented, but styles with a looser cut usually work well for me. While I loved the color, I didn’t love that the fabric was different in the back. Pass.
Cloth & Stone Tulane Buttondown — Literally the last item I grabbed to try on was this Cloth & Stone number. Cloth & Stone was the brand that helped change my opinion on button ups. The materials are great, their cuts are flattering, and every top I own from this brand is just simple and easy to wear. This is one of those tops that I can wear now with black denim (I love navy and black) and later with white jeans. I think it could be a closet workhorse for sure. Purchased.
